Account types and platforms
Account type and platform settings help Bitease understand what kind of account you are tracking and which workflows should be available.
What account type means
Account type describes the main kind of assets you expect to track in the account, such as stocks, crypto, commodities, earnings, or other manual holdings.
The account type can affect default settings, available platform choices, cash-account behavior, and the default asset search context when adding transactions.
What platform means
A platform is the broker, exchange, wallet, or provider where the account is held. Select the matching platform when it is available, or use Other/manual account details when it is not listed.
How this affects cash tracking
Some account type and platform combinations can control whether cash tracking is supported, optional, required, or unavailable. This matters most for broker and crypto exchange accounts where cash can sit in the account between trades.
Changing account details later
You can edit account details later when you have write access. If the change would conflict with existing cash history or account behavior, Bitease may prevent or limit the change.
