Add a cash transaction

Cash transactions record manual cash activity in an account with cash tracking enabled.

What a cash transaction is

A cash transaction changes cash history without creating a normal buy or sell position transaction. Bitease supports Deposit, Withdrawal, Dividend, and FX conversion cash transaction types.

When to add one

  • Add a Deposit when cash enters the account.
  • Add a Withdrawal when cash leaves the account.
  • Add a Dividend when dividend cash should be linked to a stock asset.
  • Add an FX conversion when cash moves from one currency to another.

What information you need

  • The cash transaction type.
  • The Cash currency or source and target currencies for FX conversion.
  • The Cash amount, Source amount, Target amount, or Net cash amount shown for the selected type.
  • Fees when they apply.
  • The Transaction date.

Add the cash transaction

  1. Open the cash account page and choose Add cash transaction.
  2. Choose Deposit, Withdrawal, Dividend, or FX conversion.
  3. Fill in the fields shown for that transaction type.
  4. Review the totals or FX conversion summary when shown.
  5. Save the cash transaction.

How it affects the cash summary

After saving, Bitease updates the cash account summary and any portfolio overview values that include that cash. Withdrawal and FX options may require an existing positive cash balance.
